For over 20 years, Leadership Ann Arbor has annually organized a nine month, in-depth leadership study of the Ann Arbor area. One of the most popular elements of this program has been the introductory bus tour which overviews Ann Arbor’s rich economic, historical and cultural environments.

Golden Limousine International, in cooperation with Peter Allen Associates, the Ann Arbor Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, and the Ann Arbor Area Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce 3 unique tours that explore residential, educational, religious and commercial development in the greater Ann Arbor area.

These tours are open to everyone. Stakeholders and those interested in the future of Ann Arbor will not want to miss this opportunity to share in the perspective of noted Ann Arbor Developer, Peter Allen.

Among the topics and site examples included in these tours:

  • Sense of Place (Kerrytown and Zingerman’s Deli)
  • Mixed Use Development (Liberty Lofts and factory conversions)
  • Density advantages (TCF Bank’s three corners)
  • Effective Planning for Regional Transportation (new pass trains and trolley)
  • DDA Street-Savvy Design (State and Liberty)
  • Physical health advantages of a walkable downtown (including greenways)
  • Public Safety and Personal Security (cooperation between U of M and the City)
  • Reduced Carbon Footprint (Mayor’s Agenda)

Tours are scheduled for 2010.  Each 2 hour tour begins at 11:00 A.M and ends at 1:00 P.M finishing at Zingerman’s Upstairs for lunch, discussion, questions and networking with community leaders.

At the conclusion of the tour, you will have an opportunity to discuss what excites you and what disturbs you about the direction Ann Arbor is taking in relation to the tour just taken.

In addition to annotated itineraries with websites, lunch at Zingerman’s Deli and a packet of background information, each guest will receive a goody bag sponsored by the downtown merchants, retailers, and business owners.

Peter Allen and/or Ann Arbor Area Chamber of Commerce President, Jesse Bernstein will lead the tours and luncheon events. The fee is $60 per guest, all inclusive.
